"The vision of Vancouver Resource Society is to develop and enhance programs and housing that support people to achieve and realize their values, goals and objectives."
Quality independent living opportunities that are accessible, safe and
affordable, are somewhat restricted for people with disabilities
requiring care support. Since our inception in 1972, the Vancouver
Resource Society has been a leader in this field, committed to developing
innovative housing programs that allow people with disabilities the
opportunity to integrate and live independently in the community.
Meeting
this basic need allows an individual to be more self-sufficient and
generally take advantage of everything a healthy community has to offer
including access to employment, education, and recreational
opportunities. To this end, V.R.S. will continue to develop appropriate
housing, provide trained staff, and be an ongoing resource for any
individual with a disability that aspires to independent living.
As of today, VRS has 18 homes in Greater Vancouver and units in three apartment buildings, providing housing and care services to some 150 people.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed both past and present, to the success of the Society.
