Remembering Ken Fraser

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our longtime Executive Director, Ken Fraser.

Ken dedicated 45 years of his life and leadership to VRS Communities Society. Through his vision, compassion, and unwavering commitment, he helped shape VRS into one of British Columbia’s leading non-profit housing and support service providers. His leadership touched the lives of thousands of individuals, families, staff, and community partners, leaving a legacy that will continue to guide and inspire VRS for many years to come.

Beyond his many accomplishments, Ken was a mentor, a colleague, and a friend to so many. He believed deeply in the mission of VRS and, most importantly, in the people who carry that mission forward every day. His passion, integrity, kindness, and genuine care for others left a last impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

Ken’s extraordinary decades of service represent far more than a professional accomplishment. They represent a lifetime commitment to VRS, to the people we serve, and to building stronger and more inclusive communities.

We are profoundly grateful for Ken’s 45 years of dedication, leadership, and friendship. His influence will forever remain part of the history and heart of VRS, and we will honour his legacy by continuing the work and mission he cared so deeply about.
